Welcome to Apprendre et Vivre Online

Apprendre et Vivre was established in Athlone in 1976 in close partnership with a French
organisation in order to promote links between European teenagers by arranging educational
programmes, between Europe and Ireland.

All parents and teachers alike realise the importance of knowing a foreign language. As the barriers
of Europe fall employers are increasingly looking to those with the experience and knowledge of
European languages.

The best way to get this knowledge and experience is to go abroad and speak and live with the
people. Culture, habits, foods are different among the countries of Europe.

Speaking a European language is also knowing and appreciating a different way of living.
The students participating in our programmes should not only be ready to improve their
language ability, but also be prepared to accept the differences.
